About

Lauderdale Limpers Running Club was founded on 25th November 1997 by John Wilkinson, Bill Stevenson, Dave Blaszk, Brian Bell, Graeme Sutherland and Andy Cook. It has now grown into one of the largest running clubs in the region with a typical training night now attracting over 30 runners of all abilities.

International Hill Runner, John Wilkinson coached the club for the first five years before retiring. Graeme Sutherland took over from John and still leads the Tuesday sessions.

The running club’s aim is to promote running as a fun & enjoyable way of keeping fit and new members of all abilities will be made most welcome. The countryside around Lauder and the well lit streets provide a great variety of terrain and routes for the sessions planned to increase speed and stamina and challenge all levels of runners.

Club kit is available for sale including vests and hoodies with more in the design stage. The yellow and blue vest is also recognised throught Scotland as The Limpers compete in road races from JogScotland 5K through to full marathons, with Hill Races and Cross Country and endurance challenges additional challenges for the enthusiasts. The club is also famous for “pushing the boundaries” and are always looking to try new events to increase the competitive spirit of its members.
